I learnt that 50% of the jobs are hidden and not posted on the job websites, most of the hidden jobs get fulfilled by internal references, is this true? Please comment. Getting job will be easier if you have references?

This is 100% correct in Canadian Context. Over 50% jobs are filled internally.

That is the absolute truth of the job market...not just in Canada but around the world! That said, however, I got my present job (as well as the last one) through job consultants
