Hi everyone,
I am trying to live in Turkey right now. And I have been thinking to try a new life in Canada. I am graduated from İstanbul University English Language and Literature but I have been creating music, I am a musician. I have my songs and continue publishing them in digital music platforms. I also have English Teacher Cerrtificate from İstanbul University. So I am trying to figure out the job opportunities in Canada, what can I do in Canada? Can anyone enlighten me a litte please? Thank you so much. Love and light...

I can't comment on the music industry.

Teaching is a tough field in Canada. There are a lot of qualified individuals and competition for jobs. Based on the certification you have now, the only option would be to each English as a Second Language. It's generally quite difficult to secure these jobs. If you want to teach in an actual school (e.g. primary, secondary, etc.), then you will need to complete additional education in Canada and become certified to teach. Specifically, you would need to start by completing a Bachelor of Education.

Note that you would need to immigrate to Canada first and become a permanent resident before you will realistically be able to find a job. So your first step should be to research economic immigration programs like Express Entry to determine what it takes to qualify and apply.

Thank you for your reply.

As far as I understand first I have to move Canada then there I will find myself a job. I took a glance at Express Entry and there I looked at “ find if you’re eligible to apply” page, I couldn’t finish the inquiry because I need to submit language test results which I don’t have any. I thought that as I have an English Language and Literature degree from İstanbul University, which is a very prominent one in Turkey, I will be exempt from any language test. I don’t know??? So I couldn’t find out if I am eligible... I heard that I should have some money on my bank account as well? As for music it is a different story for now. I don’t know...

No - you won't be exempt from the language test. You need to take IELTS.

Yes - you need to have savings of around $13,000 to qualify (assuming you are single with no children).

Everyone is required to write a language test irrespective of the country and what they have studied.

Well, thank you very much. I appreciate your help. I will think about all these requirements. Wish you and all of us healthy days. If you know any easy steps for me, please let me know. Thank you. Love and light from İstanbul...

There are no easy steps. If you are serious about immigrating to Canada, it's going to take a lot of research, reading and work. It's a hard process.

I see, thank you. IELTS is a very easy step for me actually. The hard thing is the $13.000. When I say easy, I only mean that amount of money. Apart from that money, I know that I am so very capable of living in Canada. Thanks for all your replies.

You also need your education assessed to Canadian equivalency. And $13k is not the only cost. There are application, medical, biometrics, language tests and ECA fees too. Not including air fare. The $13k is need to settle in Canada.

Yes, I see this. As I said it's all about the money for now... Thank you. I am sure İstanbul University has Canadian equivalency, as it is a very prominent University in Turkey and worldwide. I will learn about it surely... Anyway, I will take into consideration all this information that I get from you. Thank you.

It is not all about the money. You need to be eligible for Express Entry and then you need a CRS score of at least 470. If you only have a bachelors, you will not have enough points.

Alright, thank you. I can handle this. I still think that it is all about the money at least “for me” right now.

The money should be the least of your worries. To qualify is the hardest part. The days are over when Canada accepted each and everyone. Be prepared for a long and sometimes frustrating journey..

Thank you. I don’t think everyone living there is or should be a greek god or something like that, right?! :) Good luck for me then. And good luck for everyone in the surface of the earth that trying to live in this new aquarian era which brings so many natural and global troubles. As a vegan I am, I think I am no harm in anywhere in this world, mother nature, forget about the borders. I also think that there is no “ hardship” in naywhere for anyone rather than mental imprisonment. I am ready all the frustrating journey that is coming my way brother/ sister. Love and light to you :)
