Hello All,

i am pretty much new to the forum, so i am not sure if i am putting this post under the right tab. However, my post i regarding enquiry of IT jobs in Canada. i am also at the same time looking forward to migrate to Canada. However, i am thinking that if i have a job in hand then it would be easy for me to get settled and join the job on time.

Also, i am from India.

All the guys here who have knowledge, please advice on my thoughts.

Regards,
George

Hi,

As far as I know it is near to impossible to get a valid job offer along with LMO (labor market opinion) from an employer who'd be ready to invest time and money in some international candidate. Generally in Canada labour market is quite tough, they are eager to see local work experience and references and sometimes even domestic educational credentials. You have to have some really unique set of skills to stand out from the crowd.

Most of people on this forum immigrate without job offers and it takes them years to succeed. Both your background skills and Canadian labor market can change drastically by the moment they land. So you better decide what you actually want and based on how much money and time you possess, either wait for the Express Entry program starting on 01.01.2015, or look for some job or educational opportunities.

Hi Georgekolath

I agree with RomanSPb in that most employers are hesitant right now to apply for the LMO/LIMA to bring an international worker here.

You can still immigrate to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Program as long as your current IT position is on the list of eligible occupations. WIth this route, you would be coming to Canada, jobless, and would be starting your search from scratch.

That being said, there are employers here looking for employees with IT skills, they just dont want to spend the time and money in doing international recruiting efforts.

The Express Entry system launching Jan 2015 will place you in a pool with other candidates where employers can then hand pick who they want as opposed to the first come first served style of applications we have now.

Feel free to ask any other questions as we are a licensed firm in Canada.
