Hello,

I am planning to move to Canada on a permanent basis. After knowing the process, I decided to go through the following process -
1. Applying a job in my field.
2. Getting a provincial nomination
3. Applying a PR through Express entry

Sadly, after applying so many jobs, I feel Canadian companies hesitate a bit on hiring foreigners as they have to sponsor us. They are willing to consider us in case we have a Work permit. I have heard it from some of my friends too, who are in the express entry pool.

Now, the doubt in my head is, can i apply a for a Temporary Work permit to get a job first, and then go with the planned steps 1, 2 & 3 ??? Will it create any problems or is illegal anyhow to apply for a Work permit first, and then apply for a PR too ?? I am from India anyways.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

You don't qualify for a work permit. You need a job offer and approved LMIA to apply for a temporary work permit.

No - you don't qualify for an open work permit.
