Job duties for CEC

Hi Forum Members,
I am applying in NOC 0512 as publishing manager and out of 6 main duties only 3 are matching with the NOC list. For CEC is it mandatory to have all the main duties similar to NOC list or partial duties are also accepted. Need help with it

You don't have to match all of them. Obviously the more the better, though.

•Establish procedures and implement policies in newspaper and publishing firms, in film, theatre, record and video production companies, and in radio and television stations
•Plan and maintain production schedules for publications, films, broadcasts, and theatre, record and video productions
•Prepare and control budgets
•Hire and supervise staff
•Consult with government regulatory agencies to evaluate and review programs and policies, and to ensure conformance with regulations
•Initiate or approve development of articles, books, films, broadcasts, musical recordings and theatre productions, and liaise with authors, composers, producers and directors.

My duties that matches;
•Establish procedures and implement policies publishing firm.
•Plan and maintain production schedules for publications
•Initiate development of articles and liaise with authors, editors and reviewers.

are these enough?

I guess you could think carefully about what you did during that time and list anything related to those duties. I had the same experience, but when I thought more carefully, I found more.

I applied for TRV in august 2013 and showed my employment as an assistant publisher but since assistant publisher does not exist in NOC list, and my responsibilities matches with publishing manager. can I change my job title?

If you don't hire and and supervise staff , or work with budgets, you might not be seen as a "manager" by CIC.

I just supervise the programmer. Will it be counted as supervising staff?

other job duties include;
-Acting as an admin for 6 scientific journals on journal review site.
-charging extra page fee to authors and keep records.
-proof reading after typesetting of research papers.
-send research papers for indexing.
