To repeat, PAFSOs don't work for CIC. They are employees of the Department of Foreign Affairs. They don't report to the Minister of Immigration.

Besides, the new immigration minister will be more of the same anyway... I agree with Justin Trudeau who said "The only Minister with any power in this Cabinet is the Prime Minister. Today's shuffle does nothing to change that".

I would just copy and paste that into a title of a thread haha

(THAT being : PAFSOs don't work for CIC. They are employees of the Department of Foreign Affairs. )

I still don't think they'd listen. I've even posted multiple links in their different threads and they don't read the links.

I just listened an interview this morning with the new Minister on CP24. Basically he was all praise for Jason Kenny. He said, as a new Minister, he is learning the ropes :o

My guess is, nothing going to change.

Question is: Are you going to remember what pain you had to go through to reunite with your family and vote accordingly when you become a Citizen of this great country 8)

I would never base my vote on 1 issue.

They made a good point on CBC last night. Kenney is a good goon for Harper. He does all his dirty work. People were applauding him for 'cleaning up' immigration. They speculated that his move to Minister of Employment and Social Development foreshadows big changes there. It's possible Harper has his sights set on another 'clean up,' perhaps to EI and benefits for seasonal workers and they speculated on the radio that he might want to take on some of the bigger unions.

CBC also said Jason Kenney is now effectively the Deputy PM - not in name, but basically in power.
