thanks for the advise....question though if I defer until Jan 2021 will that affect the processing of my student Visa? meaning will I have to send new documents to IRCC or do i have to advise them in any way?

Hi Nemby, The deferral would be between you and the school while you wait for IRCC to make a decision your permit.

I suppose deferring to January would be the better option.
My college told me I have up till the first day of class to hand in my stage one approval or I'll be deferred to January

Also with the new rules regarding studying in your home country, when it comes to applying for a pgwp after completing a one year program entirely online which is allowed now. Do we apply for the work permit first then apply for jobs or job hunt first? How does one job hunt from your home country while holding a work permit?
