my husband (common-law) is Jamaican, I am Canadian. He got a multi visitor visa in 2006 to come for 6 months (the visa was good for 2 years I think).... he overstayed by a couple years and then we decided to go back to Jamaica - money was tight thats why we never filed.... We went back to Jamaica in 2010 June and he's still there... I'm in Canada to have our 3rd child and would like him to be here..... What do you think are his chances of getting a visitor visa again, I am due in 8 weeks?? He was never forced to leave Canada.

Hi DivineJamaica, being that he overstayed once, I don't think that he will be given another visa. I think your best option is to file for his Canadian PR as a spouse instead of a common law. Yuup! You should get married. :-)

I agree with Admirable your best way out is to get married and sponsor him since he overstayed his chances of being given another visa are slim. Best of luck :D
