Hello,

I've just received an email that confirms that my application for the permanent residence in Canada has been received by CIC. The problem is that I sent the application last August, 18th 2011 but I'm receiving the confirmation only now! I was wondering if the processing time for my permanent residence would start from now May, 4th 2012 or it has already started when the CIC received my application last August????????????

Any explanation will be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your attention

Cheers

If you have recd it frm CIC than it must be PER nd not AOR.....

You have received PER( positive eligibility review) from CIC. Now, they will send your application to your visa office and once they receive your application from CIC, they will confirm the same to you and you will then receive the AOR, an acknowledgement through mail. Once they issue the AOR, the real process of background checks and security checks start. So sit back and relax, it is a long process. best of luck
