Hi,

I got the ITA last Friday (yaay!) and was wondering when I would get a 'packet' of instructions? Is it mailed to my mailing address? Or will they send a link or a pdf? I'm in a remote vacation city where internet access is quite limited. I'm seeing on my CIC site that I need to add/complete details for myself, my wife and two kids... Can i assume that once i complete all info, they will email me a packet of instructions?

The reason I ask is that I have a medical exam in a week and wanted to know exactly how the doctor will give me the medical results? Does he hand it to me as a physical report and I then scan and upload it? Or will the doctor automatically 'upload' it? I also need to email my HR department to get employment letter. I want to know exactly what CIC needs to see (I read in other posts, they need job description, salary and title)

Would truly appreciate your advice.

Regards

Nothing will be mailed to you. Everything is online in EE. After you are done filling up that section, you will get a personalized checklist and you will have to upload all documents accordingly. You will then have to 'transmit' this information and pay the processing fees online.

Carry a printout of the ITA letter along for medicals. Ensure that the clinic runs eMedical. In that case, they will print a 1 page confirmation at the end of your medicals which you will have to scan and upload in the designated placeholder in your MyCIC profile.

This is what needs to be there on the employment letter.
The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

a reference or experience letter from the employer

should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and e-mail address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company);

should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits.

If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include copies of T4 tax information slips, Notices of Assessment (NOA) and Option C printouts issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (the time period for these documents should reflect the work experience timeframe, e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 requires only documents from those calendar years).
