Hi all

I have initially submitted my profile as skilled worker class, met thrle cut off and received ITA recently. However im not expecting to get married in a few months which would change my status.

Should i reject my ITA now? Would this allow me to update my profile in the next draw as a couple/married status??
Or should i reject my profile and create a new one.

My score is such that i would get an ita if i reject now, wondering what is the best approach..

Thanks

Or take the sensible option: don't decline the ITA, get married AFTER submitting your PR app and then add your spouse.

Hi, but the spousal visa takes around a year with a bunch of documentation as compared to the PR application

If you get married and add your spouse after AOR and before PPR, both of you will be able to migrate as permanent residents together. Don't decline the ITA.

I didn't say apply for sponsorship. Marry and ADD HER to your PR app while it is in process.

Yes but i expect the marriage to happen 3 months after, if i do complete ITA there are chances that i get my PR before even i get my documentation complete. I that case i wont be able to add her as spouse in the application... Since my score is around 500+ if i reject the ITA now it will come back in the next cycle/draw..

Wondering what would be the best way for this

The wise thing to do would be, apply on your own then get married as planned, and then add your spouse to your existing application as a dependent.

This is not the same as a spousal sponsorship, and this might only cause a slight delay in your application.

If you are planning to get married, I strongly encourage you to go this route.

If you are still 3 months away from your marriage, you can wait until approaching the end of the 60-day window period you have to submit your application.

Then apply.... odds are your application will not be processed within 1 or 1 1/2 months.

I got married 7+ months into my application... added my spouse 1 month later, and had both our PRs approved within 10 days of adding her (see my timeline)

I agree.. In that case i have to reject my current ITA?? As my current ITA expires within 2 weeks from now.
Also if i reject my ITA i would go back in the pool, would that allow me to change my profile before that?

What do you mean by change my profile?

Once you reject your ITA, you go back to the pool. And you'll be there for up to 1 year from the day you submitted your profile.

I would suggest, go back into the pool, get a new ITA and apply around the deadline, then get married and add your spouse.

This will make your life easier, is fair play, it will reduce the amount of supporting documentation you need to submit (not need to prove your spouse's work experience or education), and the processing times will be shorter than sponsoring her.

Seriously, read what is being posted. DON'T reject the ITA. Apply and then add your spouse to your app. You are making this much more complicated than it needs to be.

Thanks for the response.
