Dear Friends,

I am an Indian Muslim. As permitted by my religioius laws, I married 2 women. I included the name of my 1st wife in my application of permanent resident. Now I want my 2nd wife to join me in Canada. Is it possible to apply for my 2nd wife's paper when

1- My 1st wife will not be joining me in Canada
2- Without submitting any documents (like divorce paper for the 1st wife) which I don't want. Can I apply for my 2nd wife.

Please help me in this regard. I really dnt know much about the Canadian Laws so if anyone is sure about this by personal experience or if you have seen this kind of case before.

Thanks

The only thing I can tell you, is that Canadian law only permits a person to be married to one spouse, not two. There is no way "around" it, that is the law.

Good luck.

I think the best way is to re-apply without your 1st wife and apply with your 2nd wive's name. CIC does not accept 2 wives.

They will not accept two wives. If you state that you have separated from the first wife but want to bring the 2nd wife with you as your common law partner, it is possible that they would allow it but only one of them can accompany you to Canada and get PR with you. I think you should get a lawyer to advise you on this.
