Issues booking a one way ticket?

I booked a one way ticket to land in April but now Air Canada has sent me an email asking for additional information including, country of residency, nationality, passport number and destination in the U.S. I hope that there is no issue because I'm not going through the US. It's a direct flight to Toronto

US destination is optional and is relevant only for people with US as final destination.

additional information including, country of residency, nationality, passport number --> This is normal. Even I had to provide these details after I booked my 2 way ticket from Montreal to New Delhi ( and back). I am on Work Permit in Canada.
