Since this new open work program seems to be enticing people to apply inland, i think it's important to understand the specifics of what happens once it's issued. i'm not convinced it's a reason for visa exempt applicants to apply inland and would like to educate myself more on the rules a person must follow in order to find employment.
here are my questions:
1. when are those with owp eligible for healthcare? (i know it's province specific... i've read that for ontario it requires an employer AND a certain amount of hours worked to qualify?)
2. can a person with an owp work for more than 1 employer at the same time (ie: 2 part time jobs instead of 1 full time)?
3. can a person switch employers while on an OWP?
4. How likely are employers to hire foreign worker permit holders because of the temporary status and government issued quotas? Do these "barriers" add to the difficulty of finding work or is it just a perceived assumption?
5. What jobs are prohibited with an OWP? (i believe healtcare and childcare are 2?)
