Hi everyone, I'm a new user here.

I recently sent an application to sponsor my wife. She is from Syria and currently living in Turkey.

The issue is I received a letter indicating a requirement for a Medical Examination. The letter specifically says:

Requirement for Medical Examination: If your sponsored relative(s) has (have) not already done so, your relative(s) must provide an original Upfront Medical Report form (IMM1017B UPFRONT) signed by a Panel Physician or an E-Medical Upfront Medical Notification information sheet. Your relative(s) must complete the medical examination and, once completed, forward this information directly to the visa office noted above along with a copy of this letter. Your application has been transferred to the visa office noting this deficiency. Your relative must forward the medical information directly to the visa office to allow continued processing of his/her application. Failure to do so will result in delays and possible refusal of your relative's application

What's the issue?
With the sponsorship application I have already provided an Upfront Medical Report: IMM1017B. However, the Upfront Medical Report I attached with the application was done in advance of sending the whole sponsorship application. It was done in March of 2015 and the application was received in October of 2015. I did not have a UCI number when I did the Upfront Medical Report for her.

Can you anyone please confirm whether the Upfront Medical Examination: IMM1017B needs to be performed again? Was this something that had to be done after sending my application?

Hi

No, it doesn't need to be done again. That is a form email from CIC, hence why the letter states "IF your sponsored relative...".

Canuck, thanks for your help.

But can someone please clarify if you're also receiving this form letter with your sponsorship application? It clearly says "your application has been transferred to the visa office noting this deficiency".

Canuck, it definitely looks like a form email. But its really confusing me and I'm afraid the application gets delayed. This is the first letter I got after sending the sponsorship application.

Lots of people receive the exact same thing in their Sponsor Approval email. If you searched the forum, you would see that. Again, generic email, hence the word "IF".

So for some reason I just received another copy of the same letter with a different date.

Can someone tell me if I'm just being paranoid or do they really require the medical report. The upfront medical report was performed by a doctor off the physician list with the barcode, and there shouldnt be any issues with it. I hope I can hear from a few more people.
