GIC package will be sent you in your secure scotiabank email once you transfer your funds. It contains your GIC and some other instruction you need to follow on arrival in canada.

Hi

i need some help regarding the GIC thing, i am applying under SPP, i have the gic account details

1) is it necessary to make the GIC payment from a account that is in my name, i will be actually making the payment from my mothers account.

2) Since the scotia bank says that they need 10100 $ how much should i wire transfer considering that intermediary banks will debit their processing charges as well.

Kindly help.

Hi,

1.) yes, the money needs to be transferred from account in your name not your motherès name.

2.) Bank officials will tell you the amount which is to be transferred, generally bank officially takes something in written from you which says that you are allowing them to deduct their fees from your account, coz the forex charges keeps on changing.

Hi Guys,

I have recievd my GIC account detail and I will be transferring from my CITIBANK account here in Delhi.
I have a few questions..

In the SWIFT codes field of the mail recvd, there are many things mentioned, not just a single code, wich has made is confusing for me..
Now my bank says that plz make sure what you wana mention in the SWIFT code.

The field itself says: SWIFT CODES, not CODE.. :(

Does it make a difference ?

First there is an alphabetical code for Skotiabank, then something like " to credit Front St " is mentioned. - No clue what that is.
Then one CAU# is also mentioned.

So what do I mention in the swift code field ??

Senior members plz help...
