Hi everyone,

I have a few questions:
  1. I received an ITA through the new education policy. I have extensive experience in education, but I’m not sure it’s the path I want to follow long-term. Do I need to state definitively that I plan to teach in order to be accepted?
  2. I entered the wrong dates for one of my jobs. The verification letter I have shows August 2018 for 10 months, but I put January 2018 to January 2019 in my profile. How should I address this discrepancy?
  3. One of the jobs in my Express Entry profile was part-time, yet I worked there for over five years. The employer refuses to issue a verification letter for part-time roles. In their email, they said they “Unfortunately, since your current position with our company is on a part-time basis, we are unable to issue a formal letter of employment.” which seems to be a misunderstanding due to language barrier. What’s the best way to handle this?
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need any clarification.

Some information about me:
I work full-time in sales right now. I live in Canada, but I lived in another country (other than my home country) for over a decade, where I studied and taught.

Thanks.

1. It doesn't matter. Nobody cares. Don't worry about that.
2. Just address the discrepancy, there's no issue if doesn't affect your score to bring it down below the cut off.
3. Did you claim points for that employment? If no, just move it to personal history. If yes, find some other proofs, like job offer, pay stubs, references from supervisors, etc. And also attach a letter of explanation with their email.

1- Understood
2- Got it
3- No, I already have the verification letter for my most recent teaching job, which I held for over three years.

I’ve heard that you must not make changes to your Express Entry profile. Is that always the case?

Also include the email where they say they refuse to provide for part-time employment.

That's exactly what I have done by adding it to my Client Information file.
