Hi,

I want to apply for PR in the CEC category. I checked canada Immigration site and find that birth certificate of all applicants are required. As I do not have this certificate, I am asking for some suggestions on what can be done.

1. I have my class 10th certificate/marksheet which states my Date of birth. Will this do ?
2. Or can i approach, consulate general of India, toronto to issue me a duplicate Birth certificate , on the basis of my passport/Class 10th marksheet.

Kindly suggest some alternatives.

Thanks

CIC warrants one of the below as an evidence for Date of Birth.

- Birth Certificate if not,
- School certificate (which must have full name of either father / mother or both) if not,
- an affidavit to evidence date of birth.

CIC accepts #1 (does it include your parents' names?) but not #2.
