Hi,

I'm trying to upload my scanned documents in PDF format, but when I try to upload pdf file, I get below error:

Validation error: You have not completed the mandatory fields or you have not completed them correctly. Please make corrections where indicated.

Error Description: You have specified an incorrect file format for your attachment. Retry with another format. The following file formats are allowed: DOC; JPG; PDF; PNG; and TIFF.

Has anyone faced similar issue? What could be the reason and how to fix it?

Thanks,
Varun

Hi,

1) File size should be less than 4Mb.
2) In my opinion, it's preferable to use PDF format.
3) Use updated version of the Internet Explorer browser.
4) Also, have you seen this info on MyCIC web site ... "We are experiencing system issues that may not allow certain nationalities to apply for an eTA. We are working to resolve this issue. Thank you for your patience"? It can be the reason.

Good luck!

Please check the file format. The error says you are not uploading files of the required format. Hope it answers your question.

I have checked that my file format is correct (pdf).

Is anyone in India facing same issue?

retry in another browser... that may help.

Since there have been a lot of issues lately with my cic being down, i wonder if it is a problem on their end.

Just retry and make sure to recheck your files to see if it is really pdf and is below the 4mb size.

Do you get the error with all your file uploads or only with that particular file?

I had the same thing back in October, and some people before me, too - it's a browser problem. For some reason, MyCIC won't accept pdfs if you're uploading them through Firefox (in my case). Try Chrome, worked for me.
