Hi,
I received a letter from Embassy to submit my passport for PR visa stamping. I'm working in airline company in which i always need to carry my passport. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to file a short notice leave for my work(In order for me to keep my passport so that I could submit it for visa stamping) because of the time constraints.

When I applied for my Tourist Visa last year, i remember they just asked me to photocopy my passport cover-to-cover and at the actual time of stamping they just then instructed me to send my actual passport immediately.

I sent an email to immigration about my situation but they didnt respond to me. Kindly assist me on this matter on what should i need to do.

Thank you.

What is your country of citizenship/passport?

Although it looks like you have a visa-required passport.
You should email again and ask for an extension of the submission deadline, explaining your situation. They will grant extensions if your reason is valid and you ask nicely. Give the dates when you are most likely to be able to submit your passport, and then coordinate this with your employer.
It may take up to two weeks for them to reply.

You should also look around this forum to see the return times for your respective visa office, or contact your local VFS/VAC if they have this information. On average, it takes two weeks for stamping, but I have seen some cases where it takes two business days.

Thank you bellaluna for the info. Im holding a Philippine passport. I contacted VFS but they're not giving me any information about this matter as they're authorize. My employer can only give me a maximum of 5days leave because it's not job related nor emergency case.

Do you think, its fine to submit my passport with cover letter(explaining my situation) and attached roster or schedule at work for their reference?

Thank you, oncr again.

Ok, for the Philippines, 2 weeks is usually the average, but I saw very few cases where it took 2-3 days. Worst case scenario for Manila VO is 2 months.

I honestly don't know if asking the Manila VO to expedite your stamping will work. I believe this is more an issue that you have to sort out with your employer rather than the visa office. Unless you show in your schedule to the VO that you are definitely needed to travel, you can't demand for leeway.

You can try what you plan by submitting your work schedule + letter of explanation, but don't expect to get any special treatment. Great if the VO considers it, but don't be too demanding. Your PR status is a privilege after all. I found that's the approach that worked best for me when I asked for considerations from the Manila VO.
