When you become a PR and you wish to fly back to England for a holiday, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa ?

Why would you need a visitor's visa, you're a British citizen going home. You haven't renounced that by accepting Canadian PR.

Thats what I thought too, someone told me today that a British couple moved here and they have to apply for visas to fly back home or they wont get back in .

even if you do not keep duel citizenship you do not need a visa to visa England well holding a Canadian passport

Well, she's only becoming a PR so she won't have a Canadian PP yet. And it is possible that this "British" couple that someone was talking about moved to Canada from Britain, but did not in fact originate from Britain, if you see what I'm saying, so whatever visa they had that allowed them residence in Britain may be expired and they have to renew it in order to return there. In any case, no, a British citizen does not need a visitor's visa in order to return to Britain.

Thanks for that :) I was thinking maybe they wernt British Citizens too .

NO......my son became a PR in May 2010, he returned back to the UK for 4 months September 2010 to visit family. He had no problem arriving in the UK with his British passport and no problem returning back to Canada with his PR card.

Maybe the British couple no longer held British passports???
