If employment pre ITA information doesn't match your profile after getting ITA you'll get rejected automatically? What's more they'll look at the information you submitted for your initial study permit as well?

I wrote the wrong start dates for my foreign and Canadian work. Wrote the wrong company name for my foreign work, I wrote the parent company name. And possibly wrong NOC. My excuse is that those were placeholders because I couldn't remember the details. But then I got the ITA, not realizing my mistake, they were transmitted. It was a job I had more than 10y ago, I still got 1 y point for it.

If I reject ITA after I already started(not submitted), will I start fresh? Or is that transmitted pre ITA for life? And CIC can use that against you?

If I reject today, will I get considered for the next draw? Which, based in pattern could be next week.

Thanks!

You can edit your application - however, any edits you make cannot lower your points to where you wouldn't have gotten an ITA.

So, for example:

Let's say you said you worked at Google from 2010-2013 under NOC 2172. You get the ITA on the basis of these three years of work ex.

Now you actually worked at IBM from 2010-2013 under NOC 2173. While this is not what you said initially, it still qualifies you and you would have gotten the ITA in any case, so you can edit this and include a letter explaining why you made the mistake. Obviously my example is exaggerated, but this is technically OK. The officer may be suspicious about other things and dig deeper into your profile, but as long as everything in the ITA submission is true and correct, you will still get your PR.

So look at your ITA - if you change your profile and put in the correct details, will it cause your points to drop below the ITA cutoff for your round of invitations? If yes, then you need to reject it and reenter the pool. No, they will not hold that against you - if you qualify in the next round, you can proceed normally. You won't be penalized for rejecting the ITA and re-entering with a corrected profile.

If your points do NOT drop after correcting the profile, you can proceed with the submission. Just explain why you're changing your work ex. It's somewhat reasonable to say that you had a hazy memory of work from 10+ years back, but now that you're submitting you have verified everything and you are submitting a complete and correct application.

As long as your documents back you up, you shouldn't have an issue.

Thanks, I just realized that start dates in work history don't have days, and I'm thinking of the activity form that has does. I'm good for my Canadian work.

My foreign is more complicated, in my cic applications after the study permit, I put the start month as 03 but should be 05, this is because the HR letter that I received from previous work has the date 03-05 as start date, in my country the 05 is the month, but in Canada it's flipped MM-dd.

Forgot what my first online application was, the study permit I applied for directly, paper based to Canadian embassy so that one should be Ok but then for the online ones I started to mix up the date with the month and subsequent applications such as coop work permit and PGWP references that mistake.

The company name...

companyA(my original work) is part of companyB

companyA has mostly since been absorbed, including doesn't have its own hr, email anymore, companyB gave me reference letter but in companyB letterhead.

In my pre ITA I put in companyB.

Thing is, ALL previous applications used companyA.

I asked them to use () like so:

This is to confirm that me has worked for companyA(part of companyB) blah blah

Is there a better way to do this?
