I got a letter to me (the sponsor) asking for the Right Of Permanent Residence Fee in order to conclude the application. Does this mean we are approved or very close? So excited but need to know what it means before we celebrate. We will pay the fee tommorow. Do I put my name on the receipt or his?

Congratulations! thats a sign of approval!

Oh I pray that your right! It would be the best Christmas prsent ever :)

Can anyone else help confirm this?

All......is the "Right of Permanent Residence Fee" the same thing as the "Landing Fee"? Just wondering, because we paid the "Landing Fee" about a month ago, but we haven't received approval yet. According to the website, we are still "In Process". Thanks.

Here's the processing stages I found from CIC. Take a look at Step 3. If they're asking for RPRF that meant that after you send your receipt for payment they'll issue your visa. Congratulations!

Since you're the sponsor I'm assuming you'll be the one paying the RPRF. Put in your details (name, client id, etc..) on the receipt.

They want the name of whoever paid. Just in case they ever had to give a refund, they'd know who to send it to.

All......just a bit of caution in getting super happy that this means you are approved. We paid our Landing Fee about a month ago. It odesn't mean you are approved. Or at least it sure hasn't in our case. When I check the status online it still says I am "In Process". I thought the same thing.......wooooo hooooo they are asking for the Landing Fee. Must mean the next step is to get the request for the passport and the Visa. As I said, that was about a month ago. still nothing.

Just wanted to share what I have seen. Hope your's is better news. Thanks.

Yes but if you see the link that cezvi posted it clearly shows a strong sign of approval. I obviously expect at least a 6 week wait for the Passport request and such as other members have said this is a good timeline. I've also heard of many people showing "in process" well after they receive a actual letter.

The visa office would not exactly ask you to pay RPRF if they're going to refuse/deny your application, so them asking you to pay RPRF would mean that visa will be issued soon. I mean, what's the point of asking for payment if they're going to refuse you anyways?
