Hi there,

I landed on 7 June 2011. It's about a month here. Meantime, we observed the lock-out in Canada Post. I have recently checked the CIC website the processing time for PR Card it shows 41 business days for new permanent residents. I have a confirmed ticket to fly back on 30 July 2011. I just want to carry along the PR card with me. Can anyone advise how i can get my PR card within this stipulated time? It is very important for me. I have plan to move in Canada for good 1Q next year.

thanks

There is no expedited processing for the initial PR card. You will have to wait the 8 weeks.

If you dont get it by then have someone FedEx it to you. Easy.

PMM, when I read somewhere on the CIC website about showing CIC a return airplane ticket, to get expedited processing, was that only for renewals, and not for first-time PR cards?
