Edit: Is there a mandatory requirement for minimum duration for Passport expiry in Express Entry application?

My passport has its expiry in next 5 months. Can I use it for my Canada PR Express Entry application?
I'm not trying to renew my passport as I'm on Student Visa (F1) in US working on my OPT and my EAD card is yet to arrive. It may take one more month and with my birthday next month, I will be one year older and few more points will get deducted from my CRS score. Please suggest what shall I do.

Yes it is
Your solution is simple. If to get new passport takes time. use your current passport and add your application for your new Passport with explanation.
On a side note. If you get ITA your points for age will freeze at that day (so you can take your 60 days to send your application). However points for IELTS and ECA will only freeze on the day you can confirmation of receipt of your application.
