Hi everyone,

A friend of mine plans to apply PR via CEC, he met the requirement for work experience part but he didn't claim tax return this year, so he does not have a notice of assessment from CRA this year.

So is that OK for him to send only the T4 slips to the visa office?

Thanks!

It's a required document, so if he can't provide it he will need to provide a letter stating why.

If he earned an income and owes taxes to the CRA, he is required by law to file a return. It's going to raise a lot of questions, so I hope he has a good reason.

Thanks a lot! I asked him, he said he would get refund if he filed, he just missed the April deadline. So is it possible for them accept the reason?

He can file a late return. If he was eligible for a refund, there would be no penalties.

He should file his return and include the assessment with his application.
