Hello!
I'm a US citizen, but I received my Master's education from a University in Ontario. I moved back to the United States after finishing school, and am working in the IT field, I think my NOC code would be 2174.
I've been looking at the CIC sites for a long time, and it seems like I would not be considered for Skilled Worker because my job classification does not meet the 29 skilled positions they are looking for. I also feel like I fall just short of Canadian Experience class due to having studied for one year in Canada, and that was 4 years ago.
As a US citizen, is a work permit the right route for me? Or should I apply for Skilled Worker and hope the analyst looks at my background and sees that I also have Canadian experience? If I choose to try and get a work permit, is it as simple as getting a job offer from a company? Would a company disregard me because I need a work permit?
Thank you very much for your time today,
Nick
