Is processing fees for PR purposes also applicable?

Hi all,

Does my company has to pay $1000 LMIA processing fees to the govt. if they are only choosing to support my LMIA application for permanent residency. I've read it online that they don't have to. I am already employed with them in Canada and they just want to help me out for PR purposes. Please advise.

If LMIA is purely to support your PR app then no fee is required. The $1000 fee would be for PR app support AND to support a work permit application
