Hello everyone:
My 75 year old mother-in-law from HK arrived in Canada on Nov 20/2003.
Her PR card states that she became a permanent resident on Nov 20/2003
Her PR card says the expiry date is DEC 2008.
1) Is the eact expiry date Dec 1,2008 or Dec 31, 2008?
Her residency days in Canada are as follows
171 Nov 20/2003 to Nov 19/2004
196 Nov 20/2004 to Nov 19/2005
236 Nov 20/2005 to Nov 19/2006
206 Nov 20/2006 to Nov 19/2007
365 Nov 20/2007 to Nov 19/2008
2) Her residence duration in Canada if applying for citizenship on Nov
20/2008 for the previous 4 years is 1003 days. Does the 171 days
in Nov 20/2003 to Nov 18/2004 count for anything.
3) What should she do
a) apply for citizenship on Nov 20/2008 anyways and let the PR card
expire
b) extend the PR card and apply for citizenship 92 days after Nov
20/2008
Thank You for your help
