Hi,

I applied for express entry (Canadian Experience Class). It asked me all the information of my spouse and I gave all that. He has permanent residency and is staying in Canada since 7 years. He was previously living in India from 2010-2013. After continuing the form it asked me for Police verification certificate for my husband.

I just want to confirm if we have to submit Police verification of spouse even if he is a PR or did I fill something wrong in the form?

When we went to BLS Edmonton, they said this is the first time they are hearing this and they weren't sure if he will get Police certificate for this reason.

No, if he is already a PR, he should not be considered a co-applicant and does not need to provide any documents. He should be listed as unaccompanying, and where asked for a PCC or medical exam, you simply upload a statement that he is already a permanent resident, and include a scan of his PR card.

I am not sure but if he is already a PR then you dont need express entry. You need to apply for Spousal PR.

Oh okay! I am not sure about your circumstances. Maybe you got married recently otherwise you dont even need to wait for 2 years to work in Canada. You were eligible for PR as soon as you marry a PR person.

Yes I got married in December 2019.

Okay cool. It looks like an application flaw because as soon as you select the box where it says spouse is PR the documents required should change.

Hello, were you required to fill out the Personal, address, and travel history for your un-accompanying PR spouse? Was a PCC and medical required for him as well ?
