Hi,

I recently sent a letter to Service Ontario asking them to expedite my name change so i can marry my fiance faster in case her PGWP is refused so we can apply for PR, including her study permit in the fax.

Is planning to get PR if PGWP is refused grounds for refusal?

Did i just make trouble for her or is that ok?

Thanks.

Grounds for refusal for what? Are you expecting her PGWP to be refused for some reason? How would contacting Service Ontario make trouble for her?

Probably not, she made a few mistakes but it should be ok, but just in case i want a plan B.

What are my options? Can i still apply for PR? She will be on implied status for three months after the end of march.

She can apply for PR through spousal sponsorship even if she is out of status in Canada.

Thank you, i think we'll do this. I'll have to convince her to work full time. She's not going to like it but i think she has to if she wants to stay.

I'll lose my odsp, and have to pay absurdly high costs for my medication, which i am obligated to take.

Can she get a spousal open work permit if I'm not a skilled worker? (Security guard, game programming diploma)

She doesn't qualify for a SOWP. She would only qualify for one if you were a foreign worker or international student in Canada.

You can submit a regular OWP with the spousal sponsorship application as long as you apply inland. It will be approved around four months after the complete application package is submitted.

Most provinces have programs for people who spend a large portion of their income on medication (Trillium). Working full-time should be expected for any adult unless they are independently wealthy or too ill to be able to work.

No but she studied 8 months that year. The agent we hired to do the pgwp application said it was ok. But I'm not sure.

The rules for PGWP are pretty clear. If she studied for a semester, took one off and then returned for another semester she doesn’t qualify and should expect a refusal. Would use another consultant.
