Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

I am from finance background and in future would like to do MBA in the field of finance from Canada. I am planning to live in Mississauga. Please advice me about it.

I also want to know that how much it will cost and which Universities are available who are offering MBA degree.

I'm afraid immigration is all I can help you with, but I'm sure some other education freak will be along soon to assist you.

Thanks for the reply Tonsils.

Anybody else can advice me on this please?

Dude,

This is immigration forum, you would need to post on http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/international-students-b2.0/

And need to get in touch with international students.

Hope this help

@SunnyDXB ,

I am also interested in pursuing MBA from Canadian School. There are many but cost wise I found Univ. of Ottawa great. Not sure, if thats the best one but looking at the cost factor why would you want to go to Rotman/Ivy if it costs 80k. Ottawa cost 19k...I think you can even get loan or financial assistance...but like i said I am not sure yet...

If you have any tips/suggestion please let me know as well....we can work on this togather...

I am 37, MS Comp. want to move to new area fed up with IT. I was trying in US but decided to move to Canada.

if u are considering Cost factor then Memorial University is the economical university in Canada around 10000$ per years but u have to work hard to get admission in it

@Najeebkhan84 ,

How about the reputation? I think U.O. is good comparing cost vis a vis reputation factor.

Anyway, please shed some light on the placement side of the school you have mentioned. Would you go there if you get accepted?

Definitely there is no comparison with Queen's university,memorial is a good university enjoying good reputation,its only economical bcoz Govt give subsidies to this university but u have to work hard to get admission

Doing a MBA in finance is all about what you want to do with it. If you want a top job, you have to go to one of the better ranked ones, but they are expensive. But if you want a degree to get a Canadian qualification and let your other qualifications market you, then the cheaper ones could do. Ultimately its a trade-off, so you should go into each website an see where their graduates end up and what the average salary is before and after graduation and some other metrics and then trade that off with the cost.

@rupeshhari,

Agreed. I am MS in Comp Sci.Now looking to move to Canada and hence the thought of MBA. Cause all my life i wanted to do MBA. Yes, I would love to get TOP JOB but also dont want to shed 80k, 10) dont have it, 2) dont want to get bogged under loan which will be hard to pay .
Although, I have experience in IT in US not sure how much that going to fly in Canada in the recession strained ecomomy. Otherwise,being an experince SAP Logistics Analyst (not in FI/CO) i would hope there will be something.
Now getting back to the MBA zone, I am doing it as part of the getting a 1) Canada education and 2)getting additional skill hoping that with my MS Comp Sci it will help me to get better job instaed of working in burger shop , 3) and move up in the corporate ladder quickly.

So, instead of frying burger and taking about 2 yrs to get to the position I want ( by the time may be my SAP skill will be in the drain) going to MBA school and finishing it in less then 2 yrs. Assumption: A good job at the end of tunnel gauranteed.

This is right now a million dollar question.

GUYS I need your 2C.

Your idea is a good one and the best thing you can do is to look at each one's cost vs. who comes to recruit at each school.

Hey rupeshhari,

good to see you buddy.
Any news they started to look at 2009 apps...I am further down at Sept but you are way ahead of me in the queue.

still waiting :). hopefully soon.

Is a new PR holder who entered Canada recently has any waiting time to get a scholarship or federal or any other govt loan to study?
Question is lets say I get admission and want to apply for a grant/loan for study, whats should i expect as a new comer.

Business knowledge is always helpful in a value driven economy. MBA alone wouldn’t guarantee good job but with right experience and appropriate market will present you opportunities. Good luck!
