I'd like to send my 7 year old daughter to an elementary school in Vancouver for 2 or 3 years and be able to stay with her during that period.
Has anyone done that? Was it useful?
Any idea how much it might cost?
Thank you

Your daughter would need a study permit. There is no "accompanying permit" allowing you to stay with her; you could initially come as a visitor but it is unlikely that you will be able to continually extend your visitor status for 2-3 years. You will not be able to work while here as a visitor.

International tuition is about $13 thousand per year. You will need to show enough savings to cover tuition and all living expenses.

Tuition and expenses aren't a problem, and I don't intend to work there.
I understand that there is no "accompanying permit", but there are temporary residency visas, aren't there?
I'm surprised because I know a few mothers who have accompanied their kid to Vancouver, I guess I'd better ask them.

A TRV allows you to board a commercial carrier to travel to Canada. Actual status in Canada is granted by CBSA when entering. As I said, you can apply to extend your visitor status but as you will essentially be trying to live in Canada as a visitor, it will likely come to the point where IRCC will refuse a further extension and you will be required to leave.
