Dear all,

Is it true that ONIP required a valid language test result that was taken within the last 2 years, or as little as 1 year ago?

I took CELPIP back in June, 2014. It is 18 months old now.

I think I read somewhere that ONIP would still nominate candidates as long as their Language test were taken within the past 2 years?

I am applying for ONIP now, but before I sent my CAD$1500, I wanted to make sure.

I am planning to take another CELPIP/IELTS test or even multiple times, in case the new one wasn't as good as my current one. However, from registering until getting the result shall already beyond the 45-day window for applying ONIP.

Any Suggestion?

Could I submit the new language test results after getting the AOR from ONIP? :o

Within the last year is recommended but within the last 2 years is good enough. IELTS test results are valid for 2 years only.

I think it is valid for 6 more months.

Correct.

IMO, you can submit the application with the current test results. After it expires, you must take another test before you can submit your r-APR. Make sure you get scores that keep your CRS above 400; otherwise, your nomination might be considered void.

Any Suggestion?

Yes, IMO

Thanks Raj,

and what's r-APR?

I am still trying to get used to know what all these acronyms mean.

PPR?
ITA?
CAIPS ?
ECA?
ICAS?

Oops! Its not r-Apr. Its e-APR. Sorry, Typo. e-APR is the Electronic Application for Permanent Residence. You will be submitting this once you get an ITA and you have keyed in all requested information and have uploaded all required documents.

PPR? Passport Request
ITA? Invitation to Apply
CAIPS ? Computer assisted Immigration Processing System. You should also know GCMS - Global Case Management System
ECA? Education Credential Assessment
ICAS? This is an agency like WES (World Education Services) that does provides an ECA.

It'll be a little confusing in the beginning but you'll get used to all this. Don't worry :) .

One more question:

App Rcvd = Application received (by ONIP)?

AOR = Acknowledge of Receipt???? (a blind guess for me)

What are the difference between the two?

The date when your application reached their office (You can find this out from the courier company you sent your application through).

AOR = Acknowledge of Receipt???? (a blind guess for me)

This is an Email Sent by Ontario (after around 60 days from the receipt of application for FSW applicants) with a file number. This means that they have gone through your application package and they have found it is complete - They will now start processing your application.

What are the difference between the two?
