If she has a visitors visa she can apply inland or Outland. If she applies Outland while she is staying in canada she may have to get an extension of stay which is no big deal if she has an application submitted for pr, and she may also need to fly back home for an interview if they request one. If you apply inland if everything goes well she will most likely get AIP in 6 months and be elegible for an open work permit and health card, after which it can take up to 8 months to process the pr application. People who apply inland are advised not to leave canada while the Application is in process as there is no garentee she will be let back in But a lot of people with a multiple entertainment visa have reported that they do not have a problem returning. If you are not let back into canada the application will be considered abandoned. The advantage to Outland is that in most cases depending on what country your from you can receive full pr in the same time or less than it would take to get AIP inland and you can come and go with out risk of losing ur application. My wife is from china and she has a multiple entry visitor visa and we chose inland as south china is processed through honking and the time line there was 18 months at the time and we felt she would have a better chance of being able to work sooner here with an inland app. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me. Oh and by the way where are you from in canada an where is your wife frome in china just out of curiosity?

Thank you for your reply, I am from Vernon BC. Mdsirlfriend is from Beijing, teaches English at the university.
Just worried that if we applied inland, and got refused, we would have to start all over.

I am going to visit her again in 11 days.

Where are you located.

I have heard that It is not often that an inland app gets refused so if you have a straight forward case I think you would be fine, but also keep in mine that the processing time in Beijing is 40 days for sponsor approval and 8 months for pr approval. Inland a few people are finnished in less thAn that but there is a good chance it will take a bit longer as inland sponsor approval is approx 6 months and pr approval is showing 8 months. For me in December I will have waited 8 months and I hope to hear something befor then but I have no idea what will happen. Hey just wondering is there lots of jobs there in Vernon?

My wife and I applied for a TRV for her to come before we had submitted the application and then submitted it outland. Our lawyer said that they do no effect one another. She got her TRV came into Canada and then we submitted the application shortly after.
