Hi guys,
Our case is at stage two, with Hk visa office, it changed to "being processed" and i was asked to redo medical, it has been almost two months, heard nothing from CIC.
I feel waiting is really exhausting, especially our case isn't a straight simple one, as my sponsor received social welfare in early 2014 which caused our prior application's refusal(sponsor wasn't approved, case withdrew). This time we did include paperwork showing he is no longer on social welfare's receiving list, his working contract and pay stubs, my financial proof, and our plans of how we gonna support ourself in canada, but what makes me worried is he hasn't managed to make any savings for the past year.. if cic asks for further proof, i really dont have anything to give,......
Im wondering has anyone seen ppl got refused on financial grounds??

For Spousal case, No. They won't deny. But did he repay the social welfare money? Was he asked to repay? As long as he is not on any social assistance(except disability) he is fine, he can sponsor you.

I was under the impression that financials could be a factor. My wife (sponsor) is on disability (rather than welfare because of work) and my officer decided they needed my financials to ensure I wasn't going to end up on social assistance. That said, I think you've submitted everything you can. As long as they're satisfied that together you can support yourselves, I think you should be okay. I'm not 100% sure on how they treat someone who's been on worker's comp previously though (may need more substantial proof that it won't happen again).

That's actually not true. A spousal sponsorship application can in fact be refused if the officer believes the spouse will not be able to financially support the applicant when they arrive and they may both end up on assistance. We've seen cases here where this has happened. Rare - but it does take place.

In the OP's case I don't think there is anything to worry about since they have show proof of employment. They should have no issues being approved.

If they had no proof of employment - that could be a different matter.
