Hello,

My finance and I are planning on getting married soon, and I would like to apply to UBC's physiotherapy graduate ::)program. He is Canadian and I am American. The only thing is you have to be a resident or have a permanent residency card to even apply to this particular program. The application due date is in about 10 months, and I've heard it takes a minimum of 9 months to even hope to receive your card. Is there any way I can accelerate the process because I am a student, or if my spouse sponsors me will that allow me to receive my card faster?

Any advice or knowledge would be extremely helpful, since we are both completely unfamiliar with everything about this!

Thanks so much!

Jacqui

I never know there is any special priority for PR processing.
It should go on its routine manner whether you apply under student category or Family Class : Spouse category.
There is a queue system maintained in each visa processing office for the application processing. But each category has its own time line depending on the respective visa office.
