i have filed my FSW application july 2011 (acceptance status currently not known).

i would like to visit Canada this christmas.

does anyone have any idea if this is possible (can a FSW applicant apply for a visit visa?)

it is possible & there is currently no law against it.... but it will be very difficult convincing the Visa officer that you will return back since you have an immigrant application in queue.

regards,

It is possible; I applied for Canadian visa some years back and received same within 48hours. However, it seems things have changed at most CHCs now including my own local CHC where it now takes weeks and even months to get a visitors visa. :-X

thanks guys for the reply.

i think i won't risk appying for a visit visa. i hate to have a visa rejected - never had one to date.

Yes as long as you show strong ties to your home country, they will issue you a TRV.
I applied tourist visa on 29 July 2011after applying immigration on 20,July 2011 and they issued me a multiple entry tourist visa for 10years for me and spouse and 5 yrs for my three year old child.....
While applying You have to show a reason to come back to India to VO after your temporary visit. It may be your travel history, financial capability, reason to visit Canada(I have a real sister there)etc.
I think you should give it a try..Cheers....

I would suggest not apply, as i have seen many many people and plus i applied my self last year and the visa was rejected on some lame excuses. But all depends upon how u show ur self as advanta1 said. I did not included much i about my self in the case rather i provided a sponser in canada, but didnt worked. all those people i mentioned in start had no problems like me and had good background in financials and busniesses but they didnt even get it. I would say to wait for ur PR for sure rather then wasting money for something which is unpredictable.
