Hello everyone!

I reside in Mongolia and I recently got my visa approved and submitted my original passport to VAC office in my region where I initially submitted my biometrics. When I brought them my passport they charged me with $160.58 for package transmission and instructed me that the fee must be paid in cash. I was kind of shocked because I did not have any idea about paying a fee until then. When I turned to take a photo of fee lists beside the window, they did not allow me to. I cluelessly paid them with cash and they gave me a long pink receipt with signature and stamp on it.

On the vfs website, it says: “If you submit your passport/documents to the same VAC where you had initially submitted your biometric information and you have not previously submitted additional documents and/or a passport to support your current application, you will NOT be required to pay for the package transmission service.”

I found out that one of my friends did not pay anything to submit his passport.

Is it possible that I get my money back if it was completely unnecessary to pay package transmission fee?

I had to pay the fees for the VFS package transmission too, as did everyone I know. The only reason someone might not have is because they submitted and collected their passport in person and not via courier.
