Is it okay to have my child in Canada while moving for studies?

Hi I'm in abit of an issue.

My girlfriend is currently pregnant and is applying for her student visa. she has already been accepted at a collage in Ontario, she will be starting this January. I am already living in Canada. We are both very worried that there will be a problem with her getting into Canada with her current condition now. We are not officially married yet. We have already done a bit of research on how we can pay the bill, what our other options are; midwives. Will there be any problems, if so can they be resolved?

If she arrives visibly pregnant, it's possible she may have issues at the border and CBSA may doubt if she is being genuine regarding the study permit. She should also be aware that if she takes an unscheduled break from school to have the baby, this likely means she won't qualify for a PGWP once she's done (this may not matter to her).

Documents from her college confirming her acceptance, and maybe my passport, Email and address.

If she is asked, she should say she is coming to study given she has a study permit.

No - I wouldn't say it will help to mention you. That might increase concerns she's just using the study permit to get to Canada.

Will she be visibly pregnant when she arrives? Maybe this won't even be an issue.

She is required to take a medical to get the visa approved. The medical includes an x-ray (it's mandatory to pass the medical). The majority of doctors recommend against having an x-ray when pregnant since this can harm the unborn child. Has she spoken to her doctor about this? Have you decided what you will do?

Proxy marriages are not recognized by IRCC. You must both be there in person when the marriage occurs in order for it to be recognized.

If you were married it would actually likely increase the chances of refusal since this would make IRCC concerns she has plans on remaining here long term and is only using the study permit as a means of getting there.

To add to my post above, to be successful in getting the study permit approved, she wants to show that she has very strong ties to her home country and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. She also wants to show that the studies she plans to take in Canada make sense in light of her previous education and experience and that she has sufficient funds to pay for her studies and living expenses in Canada.

Showing ties to you demonstrates ties to Canada. She wants to avoid showing strong ties to Canada.

It doesn't sound like she has a lot of time to get her visa before she needs to be in Canada. Does she intend to remain a student? S\International students in Ontario have UHIP. You'll have to see what kind of coverage UHIP provides but you must remain a full time student for the whole semester to be covered. You are giving the impression that your gf is in her 3rd trimester at the moment. Is she also fit to fly in January? Each airline has different rules but flying internationally after a certain point is not allowed by airlines.
