Just wondering if it's ok to enter Canada with a one way ticket and book the return ticket while in Canada? I'm coming from the States where I work as a nanny and my home country is China and I just been approved for a TRV to visit family for a wedding after I finish work here before going back to China. Will there be any problems if I don't have one? I don't know if they will check to see but the reason why I want to book a flight in Canada because I feel it'll be less issues than booking while I'm still in the States but I know when I plan to leave and I stated it when I applied for the TRV.

Your first challenge travelling on a Chinese passport might be that the airline will not board you on a one way ticket to Canada. Then if you arrive in Canada CBSA may ask you how long you plan to visit and when you are leaving so do you give them a date but if they ask to see your booking then what ? Chances are CBSA will only ask about your plans and not ask to see your return itinerary there is no way to predict but alwys pasy to be honest with CBSA.

If your intention is to travel back to China after visiting Canada why is it such an issue to make the booking in the US with a Canada stopover ? If you are simply returning to the US maybe I do not understand the issue booking a return which in any case often is cheaper than a one way,
