Is it at all important? In my personalized checklist description I don't find it anywhere that says to add NOC code in ref letter.
Infact I am specifying it in my electronic form.

It is not required at all to have the NOC in the reference letter. NOC is an internal ESDC/HRSDC term and it is perfectly reasonable to assume that most, if not all, organizations across the World will follow their own internal HR structure and terminologies.

Technically not necessary but if you can get them to put it in you should. It adds weight to your claim of what NOC you work under if your employer backs you up.
- should maybe clarify that my letters are coming from Canadian employers so they were more than ok with adding it in. If yours are foreign work experience then it would help but doubt it would have any impact if its not there as they wouldn't be familiar with NOC codes.

Exactly. The letter I have from my country doesn't have NOC. But I can add NOC in the ref letter that I am gonna get from my Canadian employer.

I am post graduated from BC and applied for BCPNP by mentioning that my NOC code and title are 2173 and Software Developer. I got the nomination with No restrictions from BC, and then I applied for Permanent Residency with the same NOC code, i.e., 2173, because my duties match with this code more. However, my title is Software Developer, which is actually the title of NOC 2174. In my reference letter, my Canadian employer mentioned my title as Software Developer and added the NOC code as 2173. Could someone please suggest if this is ok?
