Hi,

I am planning to apply for the Canadian Express Entry PR visa but have a doubt on my mind. Is it important that my educational background matches exactly with my occupation? I have a post graduate degree in English Literature (Master of Arts) and am a technical writer in the IT industry. My previous professional designations range from being a copywriter, content developer to an instructional designer.

How bright are my chances of getting a Canadian PR in this case?

Very bright. That's not important but its important to have the requirement of at least a year of work experience in NOC 0, A or B.

No, your education background does not have to match your profession. You can apply for PR if you meet the requirements under Express Entry.

Thanks monavy for the reply! Could you please provide any related link to this effect?

What NOC code did you get for Instructional Designer?
