I have received my file number for PR Visa Processing. In the letter it has been mentioned that I should link my file number online within seven calendar days. Is it mandatory to do the process. That can only be done by my husband as he is the principal applicant. He is out of town for 10 days and I cant reach him. Can you please let me know, if I didn't link the application is the process going to make delay and it is compulsory to link the file number online

Hi, you as the sponsor can also create and account with CIC. On CIC's website it states that either one can create it.

Don't worry about what it says in the email. They want applicants to link, so they tell you that, but the experts on this forum will tell you that a) you can link your application at ANY time in the process (even months down the road and b) not linking your application will not increase your processing times.
