Hi,

I am currently in the USA and working in an IT organization. I will be applying for a Canadian immigration by December and then wait for an invitation.

However, my question is it advisable to switch at this moment because I am just waiting for my WES to get completed and I will create my profile after that(IELTS cleared with desired bands).

As I know that we have to submit job duties letter from the employer, so I am a bit doubtful is switching companies is a good option.

Kindly provide your valuable feedback.

IRCC will typically request the job letter only to verify that an applicant has the right amount of work experience that is claimed on the application as well as the right kind as claimed in the app.

IRCC does not (unless claimed that you have an LMIA job in your application) usually care about if you have the job that you are currently in. Having an LMIA job / job offer gives additional points, thus that becomes a factor.

From a practical perspective, as long as you maintain a professional relationship while you exit the current company, in order to be able to get the appropriate job duties letter later when you need it, people arent usually reprimanded in the Canadian immigration system for leaving a job. Everyone understand that a job can be left or someone can be laid off.

In the off chance that a verifying agency does follow up with your prior employer (IRCC itself, per my belief doesnt do the calling and verification), it is also completely ok for your prior employer to say that you were employed from such to such dates, but are no longer with the company. As long as that does not materially contradict what is on the letter, it should be ok.
