Hello everyone,

I would appreciate it if someone can help me with my question.
My father didn't want to be present for my engagement and reception. he had a bitter divorce with my mother and since I was on my motherr's side, he did not want to attend (Same as his side of family, my aunts and uncles). However, he did attend my marriage ceremony as I needed his signature/permission for the marriage certificate ( I'm from Iran and that's according to the law). My husband also met him for a dinner before our marriage. But, I'm worried that CIC might see this not culturally acceptable. Do I have to give an explanation, letter why he was not present? Or should I just ignore it? I have plenty pics with other family members. ( I only have two pics of him though, one at the marriage ceremony where he is signing the papers, one with my husband at the diner, none with me)

Is this going to be an issue? Your help is much appreciated.

I think it will be fine. Just provide the same explanation that you gave here.

I agree. Just explain it. You do have photos with him at the marriage ceremony.

Yes, I do have a couple of photos from him from the marriage ceremony. I will include these in my file.
Many thanks again for your responses.
