My relatives have been applying at unofficial offices in Cairo, Egypt. Those offices supposedly makes the whole process easier, not sure how though.
Is it a good idea to apply at such offices rather than sending the applications to the official Canadian embassy?

What do you think?

Thank you.

Do your relatives really think that an "unofficial" office will be issuing a Canadian PR visa? I think that they are just throwing their money down a hole.

Thanks for your reply, PMM.

I actually think those offices just act as 3rd parties, that will eventually send the applications to the official office.
And that's the point I'm asking about. Do they offer an advantage over applying on one's own?

Probably someone from Egypt or a similar place could be more informative about this.
Unfortunately, my relatives are at a loss too, as those offices did not help much (but they were told it's because of unmet criteria).

Thanks.

What is an "unofficial office"? Is it an attempt to cover the word "agent" or "consultant"?

Search out the blog - i remember there was some lengthy discussion about 'going via consultant' vs 'applying on their own'.

I am not taking sides - my opinion is that its good to apply on their own if the case if not complicated and you know you have got the required points upfront. else if some complication, consult a lawer...

all the best!!
