Hello, I have masters in biotechnology from Toronto, Ontario. I have work permit and did additional Personal support worker certification and did my clinical placement as well and now searching for jobs in long term care. i have good ielts score but lacking in writing module, Did this good option for getting PR in Ontario itself or should i move to different province for PR? I am also preparing for ielts along with job hunting

When did you complete Masters? When did you finish certification and how long was program? So do you have a job for OINP?

Research OINP and Express Entry based on your NOC. Moving provinces may not help at all as you need to research each province with a job offer.

I completed Dec 2024, and psw program along placement this march and duration was 6 months as I was on work permit. Also searching for job as well in PSW sector
Also how can i research ONIP and express entry based on my noc

So if program was 6 months, you would need a study permit to study legally. Go on the OINP site and look at past draws, scores and regions. Same for EE, look at healthcare draws with your NOC and and at least a year of experience in the NOC.

Thank you for the information, but my question is healthcare is best for getting PR for my situation?

The issue is that your certification would not be counted so you couldn’t apply for PR as a PSW. Also waiting for IRCC to get tougher when it comes to such significant career changes or downgrading of skills in Canada purely to secure PR b/c the goal is to have longterm PSWs not work for a yr never to work as a PSW ever again.

Why is not counted as my course and certification was completed within 5 months it does not took more than 6 months. As per the rule we can study on work permit but only less than 6 months which i did.
please clarify thank you

You can study for up to 6 months without work permit on your first entry into Canada. We are seeing IRCC start enforcing rules about studying and working at the same time when on PGWP.

Oh I see thank you for this. But now what can i do?

About what? You may want to book a consultation with an immigration lawyer or a consultant to review your case and what options you should consider based on current policies. Please do your research before seeing any professional and the review should not cost you a fortune and should not require any longterm promises to use their services. Sadly there are both good and bad actors and you want someone who will give you a realistic picture of your options but will not guarantee they can secure you PR. Do you know French? Learning French is currently the easiest pathway for most to secure PR.

I don't know your NOC, experience, CRS score or whether you have an eligible job so cannot comment. Research Express Entry and healthcare draws.

Think the big issue would be whether they would actually qualify for a healthcare draw
