Is Health Card issued in college same as issued outside?

In Alberta, if the student is to study for more that a year, there's a free healthcare cover. My university also issues extended health cover for a fee but it's optional. You can also have your own healthcard through private insurance companies if you're just to study for less than 1 year.

i got health card from college, those are just piece of papers, no card itself..

normally college health insurance is a group insurance and if u get it from outside it will most probably be individual insurance hence the difference....check ur card does it say group ID or something like that..
