Is french compulsory in high school?urgent help needed

Is it compulsory to learn and give exams of french as part of curriculum in high school in Toronto for grade 9 to 12 ??
Is it really difficult as my kids are studying Indian curriculum at the moment but are planning to shift.

It had been a while since my daughters graduated in BC, but they were required to have a language to the grade 11 level. One of them took French 10 and then German 11. You should look at the requirements of post secondary to make an informed decision as well. Some colleges accept language 10 for admission (colleges mostly) and universities will be looking for grade 11 minimum. Good luck.
